What are Funnel points?

Funnel points let you understand how users move through your website - from their first interaction to conversion. By tracking page visits, clicks, and custom actions, you can uncover where users drop off and what drives engagement or sales.

Automatic Funnel point detection

Once your website is connected to Uxify, our service automatically scans your site and detects key user funnel points. These Funnel points are intelligently mapped based on your website’s structure and user journey.

Uxify identifies actions such as:

  • Link / Button click – Detected automatically from funnel point names

  • Page visit – Detected automatically from funnel point names

This automatic detection works across all platforms - Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and more.
Because it’s platform-agnostic, you can use it with any setup or CMS without extra configuration.

Suggested Funnel points

While your site runs, Uxify keeps monitoring traffic in the background. When it identifies clicks or page visits that look like important touchpoints you may not be tracking yet, it alerts you.

What you’ll see:

Click View suggestions to:

  • See all suggested Funnel points

  • Understand why they were selected (button names, URLs, selectors, etc.)

  • Decide whether to add them or dismiss them

This gives you a quick way to expand your funnel effortlessly based on real user behavior.

Custom Funnel points

While most Funnel points are detected automatically, you can still create or fine-tune custom ones for more control.

Examples include:

  • Tracking a specific button or banner click

  • Defining a page or user flow that’s unique to your site

  • Overriding an automatically detected Funnel point

Available manual options:

  • Custom click – Track specific click events (e.g. CTA buttons or banners)

  • Custom page visit – Track specific page views or visits

Editing or adding a Funnel point

To add a custom Funnel point, follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Add Funnel point"

  2. Fill in the Funnel point Name
Enter a name that describes the user action or event you want to track (e.g., “Clicked Signup Button” or “Visited Blog Page”).

  3. Select Type
    You can choose from:
    - Regular funnel point - suitable for Landing pages, Categories, Blog, Products, etc.
    - Microconversion - suitable for Sign in/Sign up pages or actions.
    - Preconversion - suitable for Add to cart actions and Cart visits.
    - Conversion - suitable for the checkout page or actions leading to checkout. (Only one conversion point can exist at a time.)

  4. Add a Trigger
    Select the type of trigger:

  5. Configure the condition for manual options
Define the condition that will activate the trigger. For example:

    • Specify the name of the Button/Link.

    • Set URL where this element is present.

    • Identify the element for a click trigger using a CSS selector or unique identifier.

  6. Add funnel point
Save your custom Funnel point. It will now appear in your list of Funnel points and start tracking the defined user actions or events.

Rescan and rebuild your funnel

Clicking Rescan and rebuild your funnel starts a full rebuild of your funnel points.

Before proceeding, you’ll see this confirmation:

“This will delete all current points and start a new scan to rebuild them. New points will appear within 24 hours. This action can’t be undone.”

A rescan is useful when:

  • You’ve launched a major redesign

  • You changed page URLs or site structure

  • You added new product categories or changed your checkout flow

  • You want the AI to rebuild your funnel from scratch based on new behavior patterns

Categorizing Funnel points

After adding a Funnel point, whether predefined or custom, you can further configure it to define its role in the user journey.

  • Microconversion: For actions that show strong intent but aren’t final conversions, such as viewing a product or signing up.

  • Pre-conversion point: For steps that directly lead toward a conversion, like adding an item to the cart.

  • Conversion point: Use this for Funnel points that represent the final desired user action, such as completing a purchase.

To configure a Funnel point:

  1. Locate the Funnel point in your list.

  2. Click the ⋯ (three dots menu) next to the Funnel point.

  3. Select whether the Funnel point is a Regular funnel point, Microconversion, Pre-conversion, or Conversion point.

  4. Save your changes.

With automatic Funnel point detection, Uxify saves you time by mapping your key user interactions right out of the box.

You can still customize or fine-tune any Funnel point - giving you full control while benefiting from AI-powered automation.
