What is INP by URL Sample

INP by URL sample shows how Interaction to Next Paint (INP) varies between URLs that are part of the Google Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) and those that are not.

This lens helps you understand whether your site’s interactivity is consistently responsive — especially on the URLs that matter most to Google and your users.

Two categories:

  • Google CrUX – URLs included in Google’s public CrUX dataset due to sufficient real-user traffic

  • Non Google CrUX – URLs that don’t meet CrUX inclusion thresholds or are excluded from the public dataset

Healthy "INP by URL sample" sample

Should you worry

A healthy INP by URL sample view shows:

  • Fast INP across Google CrUX URLs — confirming that your most visible pages offer responsive interactivity

  • Similar performance on Non Google CrUX URLs — meaning even low-traffic or edge-case pages are not laggy

  • No red or yellow zones in either category — a sign of a performance-aware engineering culture

This suggests your interactive elements (like menus, carousels, or input fields) are fast and reliable everywhere, not just on popular pages.

Unhealthy "INP by URL sample" sample

If Google CrUX URLs show slow INP:

  • Your most SEO-critical pages might feel unresponsive, damaging rankings and user satisfaction

  • Real-user frustration on these URLs is being captured publicly in the CrUX dataset — and reflected in Core Web Vitals scores

If Non Google CrUX URLs are laggy:

  • These may be neglected templates or edge cases with poor interactivity

  • Visitors landing on these URLs (e.g., from long-tail search or internal links) may be met with janky, non-performant experiences

  • It signals a possible blind spot in your testing or deployment process

Performance gaps between the two groups can lead to inconsistent UX and lost engagement.

Resolving unhealthy INP by URL sample

Go-to action plan to resolve an unhealthy INP by URL sample:

  1. Ask Uxi to analyze your INP by URL sample values and suggest improvements.

  2. Use Filters to focus on specific CrUX URLs with high pageviews and poor INP — they’re often your top landing pages.

  3. Simulate INP of the suspected lens to see if fixing it will resolve the INP by URL sample. If yes, this is where the resolution focus should be.

  4. Use an automated INP optimization tool like INProve to improve your INP by URL sample values.

  5. Once you’ve improved INP, set an alert to be the first to know if it starts worsening again.
