What is LCP by Navigation AI impact

LCP by Navigation AI impact shows the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) segmented by whether the page was loaded via a standard navigation or an optimized navigation powered by Navigation AI.

This lens reveals how much Navigation AI is improving real-world loading performance by comparing user journeys with and without prerendering, prediction, or speculative execution.

Type

Description

Standard navigation

A typical page load (e.g. link click or hard reload) with no AI enhancements

Optimized navigation

A prerendered or AI-predicted page load using Navigation AI

Should you worry

If Optimized navigations show greener bars than Standard navigations, you're on the right track - Navigation AI is doing its job. The larger the gap, the more impact AI is having on your perceived performance.

Ideally, Standard navigations should still be green and Optimized ones should be even faster.

Unhealthy LCP by Navigation AI impact sample

In some cases, Optimized navigations still show a faster LCP than Standard, but the difference may be smaller than expected. This often happens when:

  • Standard navigations are very slow, so even after prerendering, some parts of the experience (like JavaScript hydration or resource loading) still take time.

  • Shared scripts, fonts, or layout logic are heavy.

  • The page visually appears faster, but LCP is still held back by late-rendered elements (e.g. carousels, personalization blocks).

  • The instant feeling of navigation is diminished because hydration or late assets blur the perceived speed.

Even though the LCP metric is better with optimized navigation, users may not get the full benefit of a seamless transition - especially if post-LCP interactivity is sluggish.

This lens is key to identifying those "in-between" cases where Navigation AI is doing its job, but the page itself still has work to do.

Resolving unhealthy LCP by Navigation AI impact

Go-to action plan to resolve an unhealthy LCP by Navigation AI impact:

  1. Ask Uxi to analyze your LCP by Navigation AI impact values and suggest improvements.

  2. Use Filters to focus on underperforming pages or components when served through AI-enhanced routes.

  3. Simulate LCP of the suspected lens to see if fixing it will resolve the slow LCP by Navigation AI impact. If yes, this is where the resolution focus should be.

  4. Use an automated LCP optimization tool like Navigation AI to improve your LCP by Navigation AI impact.

  5. Once you’ve improved LCP, set an alert to be the first to know if it starts worsening again.
